SOCTKD Children and Youth

Our Student Creed

I intend:

To develop myself in a positive manner, and avoid anything that will reduce my physical health and mental growth.

I intend:

To develop my self-discipline to bring out the best in myself and others.

I intend:

To use what I  learn in class constructively and defensively, to help myself and others, and to never be abusive or offensive.

Impacting Kids' Futures

At SOCTKD, your children will:

  • Have fun
  • Make new friends
  • Improve their focus
  • Increase their fitness
  • Discover their strengths
  • Get positive reinforcement
  • And build a strong character

They'll learn valuable skills and a fascinating art form as it was originally taught.

  • They'll gain confidence that wards off bullying while learning how to resolve conflict peacefully and defend themselves appropriately if needed.
  • They'll increase their courtesy and respect, for themselves and others.
  • They'll learn how to become a student, a teacher and a leader.

Our program encourages students to read real books and do good deeds.

On Bullying...

"No guidance about  personal fortification against bullying is complete without addressing  martial arts, which is a common inquiry at The Protectors. What we  appreciate about this option is that most martial arts organizations are  led by very decent people who do not like violence and who possess an  inner confidence that is infectious. In addition to giving a person a  greater ability to defend their physical bodies, martial arts can give a  child a sense of inner confidence that is essential to warding off  bullies. People trained in the martial arts can have an ease to how they  behave in group settings that is noticeable and assertive but in a more  quiet way. For these reasons we recommend the martial arts for both  boys and girls of all ages."
